Baidu recently launched a new range of autonomous driving map. It hopes its map will allow drivers to enjoy a safe, reliable, efficient, and autonomous driving experience. The company's latest map has real-time Fusion, automatic production and knowledge enhancement.

The map also incorporates vehicle-side perception data as well real-time integration of road data. To improve efficiency, the maps combine data from all three sources. The maps will reduce costs and increase safety. The system allows for 96% automation in map manufacturing. It's based on millions upon millions of human-drive hours.

This autonomous driving map can be used in many cities across China. Velodyne LiDAR is a manufacturer 3D real-time sensors. It was developed in partnership. The firm has been licensed by Baidu to conduct white-box testing. In addition, it received investment from Flight Capital (Lenovo Capital)

Baidu will now be able develop autonomous vehicles using these maps. The maps will not only incorporate vehicle-side perception data but also provide real-time map updates. HD maps for autonomous-driving will include vehicle-side maps as well multi-source maps. This allows for greater automation of map production. Baidu will find it easier to determine the most important data to include in the maps.

During the test run, the car was able to make a U-turn, complete a left turn, and successfully merge into traffic from off-ramps. It was capable of driving on the G7 highway as well as the Fifth Ring Road. This allowed the vehicle to cover 18.6 miles. During test runs, the vehicle was able reach speeds of 62 miles per hour.

Apollo is the self-driving technology platform. It will enable automakers to develop autonomous cars with a wide range of service options. It features an intelligent driving pilot, smart maps, and a smart car. Duer OS is included.

Soon, pre-installed autonomous robotaxis will begin mass production. The Hongqi-EV robotaxi will be the first to go into service. The vehicle is already deployed in unmanned driving tests in multiple cities. It is expected to be launched in the coming months.

The company is now allowed to start offering self-driving rides hailing in Wuhan. It has also received approval to start charging for robotic taxis in March 2021. This is the first step towards fully driverless ride-hailing services in China.

The company has been working with the government to change regulations and make it easier to deploy autonomous driving technology. If the government allows, it will be able operate fully driverless robotaxis. It anticipates that it will have around RMB 10 trillion in backlog for ASD.

The company is now testing its self-driving vehicle on Beijing's roads. It also collaborates with regulators in cities around the world. Aside from Beijing, Baidu has tested its robotaxis in California.

How to Become an Auto Technician

An automotive technician performs repairs and maintains vehicles. He/she works at car dealerships, auto shops, garages, service centers, etc. He/she works with customers to repair their cars and trucks, ATVs or snowmobiles. An automotive technician must be able to diagnose problems and make repairs quickly, safely, accurately, and efficiently.

If you want to be an automotive technician, you need an associate degree from vocational school. After completing this program, he/she will need to pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence's (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Two sections make up the ASE certification examination. One section tests knowledge of mechanical components, while the other section tests skills in practical areas. To pass the test you must go to one of the authorized testing facilities. You can find these locations online or through your local automobile dealer.

Before becoming an automotive technician, a candidate must pass the test. It varies depending on the location of the applicant. For example, some states require candidates to attend a training course, while others allow them to study independently. Some states require technicians to be licensed immediately upon receiving their license. Other states wait until they have been employed as automotive technicians for at least six month.

To get started as an automotive technician, a person should apply to a local automotive dealership. Most employees who are hired start as apprentices. Apprenticeships last for three years. Students learn basic repair skills such as changing oil and adjusting brakes, changing tires, cleaning spark plugs and inspecting engine compartments. Some students are able to perform more advanced repairs such as replacing shocks and installing air filters. Many schools offer classes during regular hours. However, there are some schools that offer evening classes for those who need them.

Once a student is done with his/her apprenticeship he/she can become a master journeyman. Journeymen spend typically four to five years learning to install major systems such as transmissions and differentials, steering gear, suspensions and drive shafts. You will also learn how to repair complicated electrical components, as well as how to remanufacture engines and rebuild transmissions. Because they have the experience and knowledge to do the job right, employers love hiring journeymen.

If a candidate successfully passes the required exams and receives a license, he/she might want to consider starting his/her own shop. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2010, nearly 1.7 Million automotive mechanic jobs were available. This number was expected increase 18% between 2009 - 2020.
